Q. Where are the Toronto port lands located?
A. The Toronto port lands are located approximately 10 minutes from Toronto’s downtown core.The port lands have direct access to Gardiner Expressway, Don Valley Parkway and Lakeshore Blvd and are within a 10 minute drive from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and a 30 minute drive from Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Q. Who owns the lands?
A. The land is owned by Toronto Port Lands Company which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Toronto.

Q. Are the lands polluted?
A. Much of the property in the port area and the Toronto waterfront was historically used for heavy industrial uses which in some cases may have polluted the land over time. TPLC has managed the environmental risk to the public through remediating lands that are required for development and risk assessing other lands as required by Ontario’s Ministry of the Environment and in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City and TPLC.
